March 1, 2014: Ten Plus Four

A whole fourteen years have passed since the birth of my second godson. I'm pretty sure he has been taller than me for the past two. Since I spent the day annoying my husband, visiting friends, and fighting with my kitchen, I don't have a lot of time before I should close my eyes, but I want to wish him the happiest of birthdays.

March 14, 2014: You Shall Not Pass...

Pi Day can not pass without a little commentary from a hobbit. I should have spent time in the kitchen with my rolling pin, sweet pastry dough, and fruit. Instead, I spent some time with the piles of journals that always cry out for my attention. (Obviously, this journal has a symbolic place among them.)

After lunch with a friend, and the worst waitress ever, we traveled back to her place. We shifted some items around, packed some away, and then moved them to a more convenient location. Sadly, she has to move again. I say "sadly" because no one in their right mind enjoys moving. As I understand the pain, I volunteered to help. I should get myself hired as a personal assistant. I have a knack for carrying boxes around.

We relaxed with her kitties when we ran out of items needing immediate attention. One of the kitties easily gave into my charms. The other, despite seeing me on many excursions to keep him well fed, has never deigned to be caught in the same room as me. Today, however, he sniffed my shoe and rubbed up against my ankle. The latter was a mistake on his part and he ran to hide when he realized I wasn't his mommy, but we are making strides in the right direction. (Cat ladies can't live without kitty friends.)

Of course, the highlight of the evening found me snuggling my husband over the arm of theater seat. We ventured into a neighboring state to watch the Veronica Mars movie. Our carefully selected theater featured seats that made me feel tall. It also lead us past my local Dairy Queen which proclaimed openness on a shiny, electronic screen. After being delighted by the movie, we stopped in so I could truly celebrate...with a French silk pie Blizzard. Win! Win! Win!

March 20, 2014: Spring Into A Million Projects

From my vantage point, I see the trappings for two quilts and a dozen journals that are on my current list of items to complete. I also have at least seven journals (including this one) close at hand in case I need to jot down a note, vent a feeling, or pontificate about the deeper meaning of my obsession with always having something to work on (I think three brains squeezed into my head with the twenty personalities that I admit to, but that's just my theory.)

March 24, 2014: "You Should Write It Down"

I caught a talk show today where Emma Watson, best known as Hermione, commented on how many journals she writes in on a regular basis. She quoted an estimate of thirty, and I smiled because I haven't quite reached that number yet. Maybe I am not clinically insane for my paper love?

What else is going on in the land of hobbits, you ask? Sadly, not as much as could be hoped for by the interested public. I'm trying to work through my backlog of craft projects. Sound familiar? That's because I keep adding to my backlog as I go. I enjoy my own creative interests far more than is healthy for me. You can benefit by this by checking out some of my [BOUTIQUE] posts at the usual spot.

Well, the late hours draw closer, so go out into the world and enjoy a nice nap. Perhaps, tomorrow will bring all of us inspiration to make the world a better place.
